Bringing a new baby home is one of life’s most joyful—and most challenging—transitions. While the focus is often on the baby, the quality of the parental relationship is the single greatest factor in preventing postpartum depression, reducing hostility, and creating a stable, loving environment for your child.
We are proud to launch our new Bringing Baby Home workshop, based on Dr. John Gottman’s research on how to best support your relationship through the transition to parenthood. This program is designed to equip expectant couples with the practical tools and skills needed to navigate this major life change as a unified, strong team.
More Than Advice—It’s Relationship Insurance
The Gottman Institute’s research reveals that 67% of couples experience a sharp decline in relationship satisfaction after the birth of their first child. This workshop is designed to help you join the 33% who thrive.
This program is ideal for expectant parents or those with children up to age three who want to:
- Maintain and deepen friendship and intimacy after the baby arrives.
- Reduce hostility and conflict—the top predictor of postpartum problems.
- Work together as a cohesive parenting team.
- Manage stress, anxiety, and postpartum mental health challenges.
Here’s What We’ll Cover:
This intensive workshop will guide you through powerful, research-backed techniques:
- Minimizing Conflict: How to successfully manage conflict and keep it productive without escalating into damaging patterns.
- Strengthening Relationship Basics: Learning the core skills for communication and emotional responsiveness.
- Co-Parenting Strategies: Defining roles, setting expectations, and working together effectively.
- Handling Stress: Developing personal and relational strategies to cope with the fatigue and stress of new parenthood.
- Maintaining Intimacy: Finding ways to keep your relationship emotionally and physically alive amidst chaos.
- Fostering Development: Understanding your baby’s cues and emotional needs.
- The “Partner’s” & Family’s Role: Strengthening your support system, prioritizing postpartum health, and recognizing signs of depression and anxiety.
