Personal Philosophy
Alissa Huff’s approach is grounded in empathy and an unwavering belief in the healing power of creativity. By combining her artistic background with structured therapeutic practices, she strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions and achieve meaningful progress.
Education
Alissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from the Savannah College of Art and Design (2010). Currently, she’s completing a Master’s in Creative Arts Therapy at Pratt Institute. This advanced education deepens her understanding of the therapeutic potential of art, complementing her hands-on experience in the field.
Art Therapy Experience
Alissa has been an intern at Samaritan Daytop Village’s Independence Outpatient Program in the Bronx, NY. Here, she conducted individual and group art therapy sessions tailored to support clients’ therapeutic objectives. Here she created a comprehensive 12-week group art therapy and helped clients set short-term goals that aligned with their broader therapeutic aims.
Gallery Management and Curation
Since 2021, Alissa has served as the Gallery Manager, Curator, and Resident Artist at Three Dogs Artisan Collective in Dobbs Ferry, NY. In this multifaceted role, she oversees high school interns from the local Special Education Department, manages gallery artists, and handles the day-to-day operations of the gallery.
