Dr. A. Jordan Wright is a board-certified assessment psychologist and a preeminent national authority in the field of psychological evaluation. Operating exclusively in a supervisory and consultative role at PPG, Dr. Wright lends his world-class expertise to the practice by overseeing evaluation protocols, consulting on complex cases, and supervising the clinical team. His presence ensures that every psychological and psychoeducational assessment conducted at PPG is held to the absolute highest standard of diagnostic precision, academic rigor, and clinical integrity.

A distinguished scholar and educator, Dr. Wright is the author of the Handbook of Psychological Assessment (6th Edition; 2016), the most widely used graduate-level textbook on the subject in the country. His foundational literature defines how modern psychologists are trained to evaluate patients. He has authored several other definitive books in the field, including Conducting Psychological Assessment: A Guide for Practitioners, Essentials of Psychological Assessment Supervision, and Essentials of Psychological Tele-Assessment, alongside numerous peer-reviewed articles focusing on the neuropsychological assessment of ADHD and advancements in clinical training.

Dr. Wright serves on the faculty in the Ph.D. program in psychology at New York University, where he founded and directs the Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing. His leadership within the broader psychological community is extensive: he is a past president of the Assessment Section of the American Psychological Association (APA), a fellow of both the Society for Personality Assessment and the American Academy of Assessment Psychology, and a board member of the American Board of Assessment Psychology. In addition to his assessment expertise, Dr. Wright has published and spoken widely on LGBTQ+ psychology and affirming psychotherapy practices.

Dr. Wright earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, as well as his Master’s degree in Psychology in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. At PPG, his consultative mission is to ensure that the practice’s assessment wings operate at the vanguard of the discipline—combining unshakeable statistical accuracy with profound clinical empathy to give families clear, life-changing answers.
