Emily Mudge believes in the power of possibility and wonder, seeking to create a safe emotional sanctuary for her clients. Through humor and warmth, Emily guides clients in a way that allows for meaningful and positive change. Emily uses many therapeutic approaches in her work, specializing in supporting children and adolescents to achieve healthy and adaptive emotional expression and improved overall wellness. As part of the treatment process, Emily collaborates with parents to develop a comprehensive understanding of the tools and strategies needed to support their child’s social and emotional well being. Emily works with parents to build authentic and meaningful relationships with their children by being fully engaged and intentional in their interactions. Her work is well grounded in the belief that children and parents are at their best when each have support in navigating all of the often overwhelming challenges that come with being a kid and that come with parenting. This support allows families to ultimately partner in the goal of achieving social and emotional wellness.

Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelors in Science and Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University. Emily also hold a Master’s Degree from Baruch College, in Public Administration with a dual concentration in Non Profit Management and Healthcare Policy. Emily has received extensive training in evidenced based treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, Trauma Informed Therapy, Multi Systemic Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Techniques. Emily most recently was employed as the Care Coordinator at Sprout Westchester Day Camp where she implemented social-emotional programming for neurotypical and neurodivergent children, coached teenage and adult counselors on behavior management techniques and supported the overall mental health needs of the campers. Prior to this, Emily worked at Village Therapy Group where she specialized in providing treatment to emotionally dysregulated children and adults living with Anxiety and Depression. Earlier in her career, Emily worked in Child Welfare at New Alternatives for Children in NYC and in the field of Juvenile Justice at SCO Family of Services. Additionally, Emily provided short and long term therapy to clients at Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy as a staff clinician.
