Dr. Heather Rosen’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, compassionate, curious, and client-centered. She integrates evidence-based techniques, including Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) to help clients achieve meaningful change. She believes in tailoring treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual and providing space for open exploration while offering practical tools and guidance. Dr. Rosen combines a strength-based and culturally-sensitive approach, empowering clients to identify patterns, overcome challenges, and build resilience. She values humor and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship, fostering trust and connection in a supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and understood.
Dr. Rosen is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of eating disorders in adolescents and young adults. Dr. Rosen earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and completed her doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to joining PPG, Dr. Rosen held academic positions at large medical centers and children’s hospitals, including Stanford University/Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Seattle Children’s Hospital. In these roles, she provided inpatient and outpatient treatment to patients with eating disorders, expanded clinical services for the treatment of eating disorders through program development initiatives, and served as a primary clinical supervisor for psychology and psychiatry learners. Most recently, she was an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Center of Excellence for Eating and Weight Disorders at Mount Sinai in New York. She is a certified FBT therapist and supervisor, and serves as a faculty member for the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders, which trains and provides certification in FBT to licensed mental health professionals worldwide.
