Lorens Hidalgo, LCSW
licensed clinical social worker
Lorens Hidalgo is a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, deepen their self-understanding, and create lasting, meaningful change. She operates from the core belief that therapy is not about altering who you are, but rather reconnecting with your inherent strength and developing the tools to build the life you truly desire. By taking a collaborative and down-to-earth approach, Lorens meets her clients exactly where they are, cultivating a safe space where they feel deeply heard, understood, and supported throughout their journey.
Her clinical work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, where she integrates relational, interpersonal, attachment, and self-psychology perspectives to provide a nuanced level of care. Lorens earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Lehman College (CUNY) and is currently deepening her expertise in insight-oriented therapy through post-graduate training at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP). With an extensive background supporting children, adolescents, and adults in both outpatient and private practice settings, she brings a wealth of experience to her clinical work.
Lorens specializes in supporting those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions, helping them develop the insight and coping strategies needed to approach themselves with greater compassion. In addition to her individual work, she utilizes the Gottman Method to guide couples through conflict, improve communication, and revitalize intimacy and affection. Throughout the therapeutic process, Lorens honors the uniqueness of each person’s story and works alongside them to define what healing and growth look like for their specific path. She offers therapy in both English and Spanish, honoring the linguistic and cultural nuances that shape each client’s experience.
