Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

Overview:

Psychology Partners Group (PPG) is a comprehensive mental health practice in Westchester County that provides psychotherapy and neuropsychological testing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Our highly qualified, compassionate clinical psychologists deliver customized services to promote healthy development and foster productive communication and wellbeing at home, school, work and in the community.

The practice is a dynamic group that primarily treats high functioning, insight oriented individuals from childhood onward with presenting issues focused around transitions, interpersonal issues, parenting, family concerns as well as depressive and anxiety based disorders. The practice offers individual, family, child and couples treatment as well as comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. The practice has been designed to function as a “one stop” resource for Westchester families seeking therapy or testing services at any point in development – from childhood to adulthood with various integrative treatment modalities available for individuals, couples, and families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The postdoctoral position is comprised of a combination of supervised clinical experience, didactic monthly trainings and professional development opportunities. Postdoctoral candidates’ will receive a minimum of two hours of individual supervision per week, one hour of group supervision, and supervision provided as needed for specialized topics, such as assessment or child and adolescent work. Individual and group supervision will be provided by Dr. Emily Bly and Dr. Eva Leighton. In addition, postdocs will meet for monthly didactic and case presentations. Clinical experience is primarily therapy based with the opportunity to provide psychological testing/evals as needed. 

Candidate Requirements:

PPG is seeking part or full time, postdoctoral fellows in clinical psychology with experience in providing individual psychotherapy to adults and/or children. Additional experience in couples and family therapy is a plus. Part time employees will be fee-for-service while full time employees will be salaried. PPG is focused on creating a warm and collaborative environment with various learning opportunities for our trainees. Qualified candidates will have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology, as well as a one-year pre-doctoral internship placement and be license-eligible in NY.

The ideal candidate possesses demonstrable experience working with adults, couples and families in individual and/or couples and family treatment. Interest and/or experience with children and adolescents required. The candidate should work well independently and be able to manage his/her time effectively. Some evening hours are required. Limited permit required of all postdocs.

Seasoned Therapist for Adults and Couples (Gottman Method) – PhD, PsyD, or LCSW

Overview:

Psychology Partners Group (PPG) is a growing, multidisciplinary private practice providing high-quality mental health care to children, adults, couples, and families. We offer a collaborative, supportive, and clinically rigorous environment where therapists practice with autonomy while benefiting from strong administrative and clinical support. Our clinicians work from an integrative, patient-centered framework drawing from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, relational psychodynamic therapy, IFS, EFT, and the Gottman Method.

We are seeking a highly skilled therapist adept at working with a sophisticated, motivated clientele in both couple and individual therapy. The ideal candidate is passionate about navigating complex relational dynamics and helping partners build lasting, secure attachments. You are either already trained in the Gottman Method or are eager to develop deep competence in this modality. To support your professional growth, we provide stipends for Gottman training along with the benefit of ongoing expert supervision.

This role offers flexible scheduling and may be structured as full-time or part-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide couples therapy using the Gottman Method, integrated with other evidence-based approaches including EFT, CBT and DBT
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and administrative records
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultations (approximately biweekly)
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, team-oriented environment
  • Manage time effectively and work independently
Required Qualifications
  • Licensure: PhD or PsyD (from an APA-accredited program) licensed or license-eligible in New York State, or LCSW licensed in New York State
  • Training: Trained in the Gottman Method and/or EFT; training support available to a motivated candidate.
  • Experience: Experience providing couples therapy and/or individual therapy to mature professionals.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care.
