Marissa Caldarola is an EMDR-trained and certified therapist with over seven years of clinical experience specializing in the treatment of trauma, substance use, anxiety, and depression. Grounded in the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity for self-determination and healing, Marissa provides inclusive, non-judgmental care that respects the autonomy of every client. Her approach is deeply collaborative and honest, focused on building a secure, trusting relationship where individuals feel safe enough to confront complex challenges and uncover their inner strengths.

Marissa completed her advanced Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training through the prestigious Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy, an institution accredited by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). By utilizing this gold-standard, evidence-based modality, Marissa helps clients safely reprocess traumatic memories and distressing life events. This physiological approach supports the brain's natural healing process, allowing clients to shift deep-seated negative beliefs about themselves, alleviate acute anxiety, and cultivate long-term psychological resilience.

Marissa earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and her undergraduate degree from Manhattan College. Her versatile clinical background spans intensive inpatient and outpatient settings, including acute psychiatric care at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital and frontline mental health support across various Westchester County school districts. Working dynamically with children, adolescents, and adults, Marissa masterfully tailors her trauma-informed framework to help individuals and families navigate relational discord, break destructive cycles, and safely rebuild their lives.
